What is CARTAX?

First published in a desk reference format on October 1st, 1998, CARTAX has evolved into an on-line reference and continues to be the "go-to" reference for vehicle leasing sales tax compliance professionals. We acquired the information we publish here by providing tax compliance service to the industry. We know that the vehicle leasing industry has special sales and use tax requirements that are not met by the "standard" tax compliance applications.
